NEW STANDARD FOR DB PROFESSIONAL WITH L-ACOUSTICS L2
In late 2024, Fabian Hamers, owner and technical director of DB Professional, traveled with Audio Solvation – the official importer of L‑Acoustics – to the L-Acoustics Marcoussis headquarters in Paris for an exclusive listening session of the brand-new L2 Series.
“After the first track, I knew: this is going to be *our* system,” says Fabian. “The combination of pure efficiency, rigging speed, and unparalleled coverage fits our ambitions perfectly.”
With the L2 Series, L‑Acoustics brings the progressive line-source concept to a fully integrated platform:
- Plug-and-play rigging – one L2 replaces up to four conventional line-array cabinets, drastically reducing transport, manpower, and setup time;
- Panflex & cardioid – adjustable horizontal dispersion and a quieter stage, allowing artists to focus fully on their performance;
- Uniform frequency balance – identical sound for every seat, from front row to balcony.
One of the biggest advantages of the L2 Series is the sound quality. “The system offers an exceptionally even sound distribution across the stage, something we have not experienced to this extent before,” explains Fabian. He previously worked frequently with K2, but the switch to L2 represents a significant improvement. The consistency of the sound is better, and the cardioid property of the cabinet ensures a quieter stage. This makes it much more pleasant for artists to perform, as they can concentrate better on their own performance.
Audio Solvation supplied the complete L2 system. “As an importer, we can liaise directly with L‑Acoustics,” says Bram from Audio Solvation. “That translates into lightning-fast service.” Hamers confirms: “The entire process went smoothly, without any significant obstacles. The new L2 set will be deployed multiple times later this year at Rotterdam Ahoy, a rigorous test of the scalable design – covering an arena with the same transport and easily downsizing to theaters without compromise.
